It really is sickening. Also sickening was that some prominent Republicans were starting to use the pedophile card against gays as a way to get around the Foley scandal. Pat Buchanan's wife, for example, was saying that Foley was a "known homosexual", as if that meant that he should never have been allowed near minors in the first place because he's gay. Makes my blood boil when people equate gays with pedophiles, since there are actually far more straight pedophiles, given that there are more straights, and the percentage of pedophiles is the same in both straights and gays, despite which group is getting the most media attention.
I think those Repubs will be shutting up now that the man who killed the Amish girls in Pa. has been discovered to have been a pedophile. It's all so ugly.
