Thanks, Howard. I was happy to read your words, as it helps me to add things to my garden.

First, I will be adding an insulated green house with straw stacked on four sides.

Secondly, I will be adding an insulated chicken coop, if the city gives me a variance. Chickens are allowed, but my space will be near another neighbor's property. If so, I will relocate. Here is the picture.

I will be relying more on root crops covered by straw around the stems to keep the soil from freezing.

I will develop more ideas based on what you have described to me.
