I’m on Lake Superior too, and those 1000 footers are far too much boat for these oceans. They’re glorified barges made to haul an assload if dry bulk on the Great Lakes. Heavy stuff too like iron ore with drafts of 20-30 feet. Our boat is only 600 ft. That’s barely enough boat to haul the grease trap sludge from one day of the Minnesota State Fair.
