There would not be if all cash accounts locked up their
shares on high sell orders like the sugar and I do.
If all did that it would really squeeze the shorts but
that is not the case.
Cash accounts or margin accounts (the worst) do not believe your
broker, they are not going to lose that transaction fee
by making your shares unavailable for the shorts to borrow.
If they tell you your shares are not available for shorts to
barrow, that is a bunch of BS.
They would be losing $$$ big time.
