Keeper2901 that's encouraging news. Especially-

Second paragraph: "Calling it an "ambitious milestone", AT&T said these 5G networks will be ready by the end of the year thanks to 3GPP completing 5G New Radio (5G NR) standards last month."

The 3GPP conference made progress on working 39 GHz spectrum into the new standard. This has removed a lot of uncertainty, and the FCC will be aware of that now. Makes 39 GHz more valuable, in a way that the FCC might now be able to finish calculations on conditions for approvals for both Verizon / Straight Path and AT&T / Fibertower. Maybe.

AT&T and Nokia have already done a significant number of tests using 39 GHz - found some news stories from last summer. On Dec 8th, just prior to the 3GPP conference it appears AT&T asked the FCC for more permission to test 39 GHz spectrum on an experimental license they had already been granted, according to a Fierce Wireless story with a link to a document discussing those tests. I haven't found the experimental license and don't know if it has yet been approved as an addition.

But it seems from the story you posted that things are moving along - putting more pressure on the FCC to get with the program. Thanks for the encouraging post.
