Partner they are not merged.
Genesis is helping Hive build out mining operations. If crypto keeps going up they benefit because they own shares of hive.
If crypto crashes Genesis still benefits because they sell the mining operations to hive. Genesis also has their own operations which you were pointing to that are not part of hive
