I got lucky....before SQ went public I was able to get shares that were priced at pre-IPO price of $16 but had to pay a 10% commission. So in effect I paid $17.60 pre-IPO.

Well, as it turned out, SQ was a huge dud...it priced at onky $9.00 when it first started trading in November 2015. I was so pissed.
It even dipped to below IPO price 2 months later.

The lucky part was for me to not panick and finally the end of 2017 arrived and SQ has done great. I still have most of my 1400 shares but may sell small portion just because.
