Finread-has this been commented on?

UBS Opts for FINREAD
" Given the positive results of compliance and interoperability tests with several card reader manufacturers, UBS Wealth Management & Business Banking, the foremost personal asset manager and the Swiss leader in consumer business and banking services, has decided to run a FINREAD pilot project."

Also, from the Finread brochure, "Interoperability-The reader offers hosting facilities (JavaTM (*) Virtual Machine)to execute small application programs (applets) which conform to a common – standard – set of specifications. A specific applet can therefore be developed and executed on different readers complying with the FINREAD specifications, in a completely interoperable way between a variety of card reader manufacturers. This interoperability reduces the cost of development and maintenance of applets, since an applet needs only to be developed once (e.g. a bank EMV applet), but could run on devices from several different manufacturers, under the control of the party responsible for the applet (e.g. a bank or a payment system, a health authority, etc.).

And, FINREAD beta-tested throughout Europe http://www.finread.com/spip/01_detail_events.php3?id_article=77 (nice pics)

So, who else presently enables interoperability?

There seems to be quite a bit of additional info there that I hadn't seen before but I admit to not having been to the site in two months or so.

Best,
