"Rain Delay?" Well, FDA Delay.

He ended up never hitting even one pitch.

As Missling stated earlier in the year, there was the expectation of starting at least one of the "games," trials this year. None are likely to happen in what's left of 2017. How come?

Ya can't play the game until the umpire takes the field, loads his pockets with baseballs, puts on the mask, and declares, "Batter up," as he hands the ball to the catcher.

The FDA umpires are still polishing the new balls. The grounds crew is still setting the bases in place --- and not where the were for the last 50 years. When the game starts, new rules to quicken the game. No standing around time. No warm up pitches. For the Rett and Parkinson's games, it will be three months and the games are over.

Anavex also gets to field selected players. Before, players had to be just general folks chosen at random from the minor leagues. Now, Anavex gets to send to the plate only those they know --- from genetic and chemical profiling --- that they start with a high batting average, able to hit whatever the Rett pitcher can throw.

There will be few or no strikeouts in the new games. At least for Rett, there may be so many hits and runs the umpire may call the game early. If not, sports writers (well, health columnists) my be running stories early in the game, telling the big scores Anavex 2-73 is racking up against the Rett pitches. Little girls running to first base (who could hardly walk or control their legs), and breathing at ease waiting for the next pitch. While still in the dugout, the coaches (nurses) notice that not a one of the players had to be treated for epileptic fits by the second inning.

Up in the stands, mothers are cheering, seeing their little girls rounding the bases with full muscular control and no seizures.

Front page stuff.
