Right, every buy has a sell but in charting the oversold/overbought indication is sort of a gauge of the swing of the momentum of price movement, IDK the specs but here's the Stochastics explanation I learned in 1988 to tell if a market is overbought or oversold. Notice the weekly stochastics buy signal on the very bottom HAON chart, it's coming out of oversold and flashes a buy signal over 20% imo.
