Surwin, thanks a ton for the post. You must have asked some very hard-hitting and pertinent questions. That's just what this board needed.

When I read how long this type of testing takes, my jaw fell open! My novice level of understanding how this kind of sausage is made certainly shows.

I also thought Rafael Gorgals answer to what the heck is taking so long was fascinating. It seems as though throwing good money after bad in these major corporations is almost a tradition across the board. It's almost like people in charge of security don't want to break with tradition, do something different, and actually solve the problem which is the security of the data itself. It was really interesting to have him describe how those attitudes are fed and watered.
