Question Bar? If someone sold 10,000 shares they paid $1000 for, assuming they paid $.10 per share, and they sold the same 10,000 for $1.80 with a difference of $998.20. Does that mean if someone who does their annual tax return and owes taxes of $1000 they can apply the $998.20 loss against the owed $1000 taxes and only pay the IRS $1.80?

Is that the correct calculation?
