The surviving ticker is usually no more meaningful than any other gimmicky aspect of salesmanship. Management will gravitate towards the ticker more closely associated with its intended audience. In this sort of scenario we often find the swallower of the larger concern becomes the chosen survivor. Of course, we know it's in name only.
