Guess what they handed it back as they wanted full ownership. So if the whole mine is up for sale why don’t they go back to Tumi? They know the geology of the whole concession better than anyone else.
My guess is that there’s minimal mining going on in Cinco Minas but that the profits are amazing as the drug cartels are laundering their money through the mines that way.
Makes sense when you think about it.
In Columbia in the 90’s at one time the drug cartels offered to pay off the entire Columbian national debt which at the time was $15bn! All the Columbian government had to do was let Escobar and company operate unhindered for 18 months. True story.
