Sorry buddy, but the auditors would know abt the company's subs and major acquisitions during the audit period as part of their preliminary work prior to the beginning the actual audit. Based on the info noted in the prelim work,the auditors would set the fee & audit timetable accordingly. Subs would not be a surprise if the auditors properly performed their DD, ie, preliminary work prior to beginning the audit.
