Hah, I wish I was a young gun. I am ~55 and trying to rebuild financially after a very ugly divorce a few years back. Very ugly.

My ex is now long gone. I have the attorney bills paid, most of the other legal bills and associated fees paid, tax penalties paid, and my kids are nearing college graduation so tuition/housing bills will end soon.

I figure I have about ~10 years to recover and stabilize, and I am trying to get smarter about it.
