Just now visited the EPD board for the first time. After years of watching, I finally jumped on board with just 300 units of EPD. I'm not much of a yield chaser when it comes to MLPs but I am very much the capital appreciation hunter.

I could argue the SA article's position as I see gains and losses as a very individualized matter best not left to the fancies of managers concerned with only their own specialty product growth opportunities.

When I saw ALDW floundering, I loaded up as I'd never loaded up on one individual offering, let a lone an MLP.

The results have been phenomenally rewarding resulting in a gain this year of $141,000 for a nearly 75% increase.

This is not about me as a broad number of us rode the same tailwinds. But it does point to there being great opportunities available to us so long as we don't listen too hard to those claiming to have the last word on how WE should be investing.

The SA article will probably push people away from MLPs. That's something I find sad. Case in point---DKL (Delek Logistics) has a fine history of high yield payouts. I'm not in it yet due to its low trading volume but I expect to jump on with a small purchase. SA has its fine points and they are many. How we respond and assimilate is not always going to be in our best interest.

As for EPD---I just took a very small position this week and am slightly ahead. I'm convinced this is a very good place to park money as its history speaks for itself via quality, longevity, consistently rewarding participants and managing to come up with great ideas, for organic growth.

I'm glad to find there's a board here for EPD. Looking forward to listening and enjoying with others.
