i'm watching for any consolidation at a given price range. you mentioned $3.05 so let me use that.

IF the price channels between say $2.85- $3.35 and there is a consistent volume moving through,...that will tell me that institutions are accumulating...i've seen this pattern multiple times on different stocks and within a few weeks to a month of following this accumulation pattern the underlying price breaks out.

the chart looks like the price is stuck in a channel, possibly the same price range for weeks,...but volume shows accumulation.

so their game is,... the institutions, mutual funds,etc want to get in ata certain price level and the mm's allow for this price channeling until the firms accumulate their desired positions. the buys come in consistently so it matters not how the mm's make their $$$$$$. 8^)
