So it is quite possible that the settlement was AGREED to, say 3 weeks ago,
and they have been dotting i's and crossing t's
since then...

or are you saying that there was no prior agreement,
and they just agreed to settle and had the papers all drawn up
ALL IN "LESS THAN 48 HOURS"???
