Several years ago, when I lived in Park Ridge, I suggested to both Commonwealth Edison AND Nicor Gas that both companies sent their meter readers out monthly. One would come on the 1st business day of the month and the other would come on the 5th business day.

I suggested that since both meters were very near to each other, on the outside of the house, they both companies work out an agreement that they share the responsibility of reading the meters. One month, Com Edison would read BOTH meters; the next month, Nicor would read BOTH meters.

At that time, it made sense to me and would save BOTH companies money. Obviously, it went on deaf ears.

Oh Well, I thought it would have been a good idea saving money.
