Lol whenever I see that term I think of me dear old mum, bless you honey.
She'd keep a butter crock on the counter that said "beurre" on it and when she'd answer the grandkids question of "do we have any butter?" she'd answer curtly with "it's right there in the butter beurre". I'd always tell her to get out of that habit, you're referring to the crock as the 'butter butter'. She never did get past that.
There was a period when she and her friends got hot for petit fours pastry for their get togethers and referred to them as peteet petty fours, I'm not sure how that one morphed.
She sure could cook good enough for this boy tho'.
