The clear implication of the poster (at least to me) is that T3 alone (which currently is about 15% of the hypothyroidism market) could be substituted for T4 (which is the other 85%) when used as an implant.

That's about a $14 billion market in the US alone.

T4 requires dosing two to three times a day orally. Who wouldn't use the implant when you get one implant for...two to three years? And you will lose weight and control your cholesterol?

Possibly, off label usage for weight loss or cholesterol issues?
