Did you try deleting all history, browsing history and browser helpers and such, remove MSN from the home page spot and use 'blank' instead. If MSN is in the windows program remove section of control panel, use that as well to delete it. Then close the browser and and open and type in MSN in the addy line. When there, chose to save the bookmark.
Close browser, open back up go to MSN, then internet options settings and add active page as home page.
Close it all again and see if that helps. You are trying to get rid of all old instances of MSN and then install new versions.

Another way that has helped was to do a computer wide search with 'msn' AFTER removing it from 'home page' and using 'blank' as home page.
Look though all results and delete anything with MSN in any TEMP folder or internet favorites and internet content folders. Anything with http & MSN in the line should be deleted as well.
