From the research that I've done, it sounds like a name change usually takes a minimum of 2 weeks after everything has been filed. A ticker change only takes up to 48 hours after everything has been filed.

My research could be wrong, but it would appear that the hardest part is over. The name change is much more of a process because you have to deal with SOS and then FINRA. Ticker change doesn't involve nearly as many items.
