IMO Heineken could see the writing on the wall regarding Mallaya's financial situations, also his issues in India, and decided to sit back and wait him out.
Now it appears he is on his way out or already gone.
I believe that Heineken has already or will shortly take full control of UB and thus the two breweries we are all interested in right now.
Goes with the CEO's tweets today also if one reads them in this context.
Of course we can debate this until the cows come home but as you said "time will tell"
