One of the craziest things to me in the last few years has been to see world leaders just out right lie. The one that still astounds me is when Russia invaded Crimea, Ukraine. Putin and the government were saying "Not us - we don't know anything about it." There were pictures of and reports on the ground of tanks - "Not Russian military". And, now, Crimea is part of Russia?!?

I mean, I get that politicians have always lied and there's a long history of that. I just don't ever recall their being such blatant proof of something and them flat out denying it publicly.

So, I'm with you - hard to know what to believe these days.
