Without including a link to the article to which you refer, your post doesn't make much sense to me. I gather the article was about news and fake news on the Net. In that regard (if that is what you are referring to) I have a friend who is not dumb by any means (a classical composer) but who believes everything she reads on alternative news sites. When I question her as to why she just says 'well, I certainly don't believe anything the government says!' I think that attitude has become very prevalent in today's world. Distrust of the establishment.

Personally I find it hard to know what to believe these days with all the various "takes" on any given news item -- they all contain a modicum of truth then add their own spin according to their own agenda. What's a body to do?
