It turns out that much of the damage from a burn is not the immediate damage to cells exposed to high heat, but from the chemical cascade that the damaged cells start that releases ROS that then damage adjacent cells. The same thing occurs in strokes and TBI. Anything that can interrupt that cascade can be extremely helpful.

I keep 400IU vit E capsules in the kitchen for kitchen burns. Immediately open one and put a layer of the E oil on the burn and in 15 minutes you will have forgotten that you ever did it. Put E on a sunburn as soon as possible and the skin turns brown and you will be able to sleep that night.
Sooner is better because of the cascade process.
