This is a huge stretch. It’s going to be hard to get credit card companies / stores to want to do this. Credit card companies would have to pay more when they already have very good measures in place that protect people who aren’t careless with their credit cards. Stores won’t want to have to wait around for a customer to 2FA a transaction so it’ll go through.

This would be like someone going to Circle K to buy a six pack of beer and a pack of heaters. They swipe their credit card which no has some sort of authentication (pin, signature, chip, thumbprint)... Then they’d have to sit there and wait for the customer to authenticate a different way (text, call, accept button on an app). It’s an extremely inconvenient concept. They’ll replace credit cards with biotechnology that identifies people before they get that system down.
