Thanks for posting that link...the full paper version occupies part of 1st page and 4 full pages of Sunday's edition of Washington Post...it reminded both spouse and myself of Watergate yet to unfold.

The Epilogue alone is telling and illustrative of names---the ever present revolving door between industry and government that I have seen personally, living here since 1961.

One story from me is enough. I was an expert witness on behalf a then generic company that had been sued by a privately held pharm company for patent infringement. Patent validity and enforceability were in issue. I saw witnesses for both sides testify. During a break, I heard an individual I did not know exclaim "If we win this case, we will make Billions".

Some years later, one or more of the individuals I saw testify in trial and now named in the CBS TV article, probably in the Post also, had been sentenced and were in jail for certain business conduct. More time passes to the present day.

The patent and trial involved a version of an opioid, OxyContin or oxycodone. The companies involved were Purdue and Endo. Ironically, were both companies named specifically as mfgs by CBS and the Post?
