Name any ocean shipping that doesn't involve inland freight, friend, either to a harbor or from a harbor...

By the way, the distance from DongGuan to Shenzen or other neighboring ports is a fraction of the shipping from CA to NY.

Not rocket science.

Take the cost of one container by truck from CA to NY.

Compare the cost of that ONE container to the cost of one container from Shenzen to CA. Remember the cost of the ocean freight is a fraction, because the ocean freight is spread over many thousands of containers.

Again, not rocket science.

The point is that ocean freight is a very SMALL part of the total.

JIT is the most important, so it is really warehousing and redundancy of supply which are the critical issues.
