Anybody in logistics knows that ocean freight is cheaper than inland cartage when we are talking about container movements.

Are you aware that DongGuan, where most of Lugee's mfg operations are located is less than two hours from HK?

Hong Kong is a loose term and has several ports for shipping.

The purpose of a US location, I have already discussed, in terms of Lugee wanting to keep profits overseas.

In terms of logistics, the real reason for US supply points is twofold:

1)redundancy of supply
2)JIT or just in time delivery for resupply

In a word, we are talking about warehousing, even more than manufacturing, as a backup to HK (DongGuan, for those who know the lay of the land).

these are pretty elementary concepts.
