When BMS cancer drug showed good results for Renal cancer - fda allowed them to stop the trial early and they went for early NDA filing.

They did not need Ariana to come with super technical AI based super magnifying glass to find traces of efficacy to prove that drug worked. The results spoke for themselves. This is called well full of water - just dip the bucket and you get water.

As AVXL did not find clear signals - they had to get Ariana and it’s advance tools to find needle in haystack or some drops of water in the well - to prove that the drug is really worthy to go into next trial.

For 32 patients - you do not need AI to show all analysis - the number of data points were literally 8 to 10 from day 1 to week 52.

Fact that they could not get the analysis completed much faster means they were digging deeper to find something.
