I personally value skepticism as a virtue. Especially around these parts. That said, if we raise a doubt and it gets a response, and we do not debate it but merely ignore it, we are not being honest. That would amount to making raising doubt for the mere heck of it.

In other words, raising a question to gain knowledge is extremely valuable, but raising a question just to raise a question is asking for trouble :(
