MJ, there could be many reasons someone sells, there is only one reason they buy.

How much does he have, what did he pay for it, what portion were the sales, what will he acquire in the future through grants/options/purchase, what did he do with the money? All good questions to help understand the sale.

You are not likely to get answers to all the questions without which your understanding will remain sub-optimal.

Coupla three four months ago or so, I sold 60% of my AMRN position to redeploy. I expected to reload at reasonable cost later and I am/will. Ya buy and ya sell as circumstances and inclination permit... you know when the anxiety will ramp up markedly...
