You don't need a gun. What could anyone done about his attack, except for the cops?

We already knew about the cameras. I can only assume Hospitality isn't quite as efficient as it should be.

I doubt he really wanted to hide the muzzle flash. Not long before, he'd tried to buy tracer bullets at a gun show in Arizona. He didn't succeed, but only because the dealer had run out of them. Comforting thought. But the source of his shots would have been very easy to determine.

The tracers would have illuminated his targets.
