Great analysis but let me suggest one change. Moviepass went from 16k to 150k in 2 days and then to 400k in the next 28 days. So it's closer to 250k in the first month if you exclude the first 2 days. I plotted every available point in an excel and if you project the slope out it comes to exactly 2.5M

I bet if you use 250k in your formula you will also be closer to 250k. Moviepass probably simply did what I did to come up with the projection as it's an exact match. Businesses often will simply use rate of current growth to project. They don't like predicting an acceleration or deceleration. The "at least" covers the possibility of an acceleration in the slope of growth.
