LOL, don't ban anything. I am not a fan of assault rocks and bricks either, but kinda hard to ban bricks. But I know many former anti-terror unit members from the NYPD. Dogs are discrete, they are in more places than we think. The obvious barriers in NYC are evident. It is the hidden security that people don't think about. They are there.
I recall purchasing luggage at Century 21 and rolling them home, right down Broad St. in front of the NYSE. I could feel the scopes and paint from lasers on my body. I know what you mean.
I flew back to LA from LGA in winter, it was 75 degrees in So. Cal. So I wore beach attire, while it was 20 degrees at LGA. TSA gave me extra special attention when going through TSA. It is what they do, profile. Who in the right mind wears shorts, t-shirt, and slippers in 20 degrees?
