Who needs Roku in two years?

Those that do not want a built-in system in their tv and are "loyal" to the brand as they were one of the early mass produced streaming units (I think Boxee was the other one around that time). Also it was this year that there was a bad Samsung tv update which bricked tvs, so maybe that plays a hand into the popularity of Roku and other external streamers.

Roku becomes obsolete when they fail in retaining streaming services (like Netflix). The Roku units themselves are cheap to manufacture and are updating their units constantly (4K resolution). So in two+ years they may come out with an 8K unit?

I also have an early Roku XS box that still works, but I no longer use it as I switched to an inexpensive Android box to handle higher resolution content.

I think the IPO came much too late.
