The important point is that ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia) cells express Survivin as a method of protecting themselves against inflammatory and immune agents which attack the tumor and cause apoptosis...EPA seems to be able to cut the leukemia's ability to express Survivin and therefore might make the tumor less able to survive.
