Peter Munk to Stand Trial in Chile
September 13, 2017 - Mountainstar Gold Inc. (“the Company” or “Mountainstar”) is pleased
to report that its Chilean lawyer has delivered court evidence as follows:
On August 29, 2017 a petition was entered into the 5th Civil Court in Santiago de Chile under
cause rol C-29.407-2016 named Lopehandia Cortes Jorge Rodrigo vs. Minera Nevada SpA and
others.
In the request for an expansion of the existing lawsuit as responsible representative of the
Chilean subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corp., Minera Nevada SpA, sufficient evidence was
submitted to request the appearance of Peter Munk at the libel and damages trial where Mr.
Lopehandia has already succeeded. Six international subpoenas were approved against the
following BCSC insiders:
1. Romolo Di Fonzo;
2. Roy Leon;
3. Brenda Leong;
4. Peter Brady;
5. Andrew Richardson; and
6. Shawn McColm
On September 2, 2017, in the 5th Civil Court of Santiago, it was requested and decided that the
lawsuit would be expanded to include Peter Munk. This expansion is an integral part of the
original lawsuit to proceed with its notification.
The decision was granted September 6, 2017.
Under the terms of the lawsuit, Mr. Lopehandia has won damages from Barrick Gold Corp., the
British Columbia Securities Commission (“BCSC”), the Toronto Stock Exchange (“TSX”) and
others with the Chilean judicial system recognizing that Mr. Lopehandia has a signed valid
mining option contract with Mountain West Resources (“MWR”) and/or Mountainstar Gold
(“MSX”). The liability of the BCSC, TSX and others arises from the judicial decision for libel
which carries specific damages. Mountainstar has been cleared by the Chilean judicial system to
proceed against Barrick et al. for obstruction of business and justice.
