They had to win the auction in order to protect their own interests. AND WHAT ARE THOSE INTERESTS?THEY ARE THE COMMON SHARES THAT THEY BOUGHT ON THE OTC. The common shares were the most valuable thing at stake here, but they had to buy the debt in order to get the chance to make them worth holding.
