I've wondered if 'local' maybe is not as important as it has been in the past, especially to millenials (the survey on their site shows that it is of very low importance to younger people).
What is lost with this move is the clear competitive advantages that we had with the other model. Now they are attempting to compete with many others in the same space. Not sure that the use of AI to help people choose their programming is going to be enough to set them apart from others with far more resources.
Perhaps the bigger opportunity does lie in the unlimited number of offerings the internet provides - if you can get great quality at a low price then there's a plenty large enough market. The challenge will be the ability to tap into the buying market - somehow.
That said a stock isn't only as good as its business model. It still has to comply with supply and demand. This is why I occasionally bring up the concern with the PCG group and dilution which seems to occur in coordination with every press release. And since the debt is so small it is very hard to see why the company hasn't replaced it with a much friendlier financing agreement. This group of people has made a significant amount of money off of shareholders backs. The effect has been harsh on the stock price over time IMO.
