the company cannot "wipe out the commons" on their own. that is done during bk proceedings. that action must be proposed to the court and then approved by the bk judge. all this talk of post bk action of wiping out commons is just untrue. the buyers have not submitted any documents proposing cancelling the commons. so, i don't know why folks think the company can just eliminate commons on their own. they can't. the judge already said that the reason she was approving the sale was because it was in the best interest of all stakeholders, including shareholders. good grief.
