Lessons in Investing:
I announced to everyone last week that I sold a large number of shares...100,000. "Fear" crept in
because of nations and international news, Houck selling, and not keeping enough in the bank.
It all added to it. Plus I bought those shares this year..and the plan was to sell them as soon as
the PPS hit around 30...I had to jog my memory on that.
Did I regret it Thursday and Friday? yes. Do I regret it now? no. I have accepted it and for my financial safety it was the right thing to do. I had planned on selling 10K shares each day, but all of a sudden
I could not hit that "sell" fast enough. Then I started thinking.."what ifs". What if LQMT goes to $7 a share. That would be $700,000 left on the table. But I'd have $3,500,000 still in stock. This is what GREED can do.
YOU ALL will be faced with the same thing in the future. As your LQMT value grows, so will that little voice..telling you.."you better take some off the table". And if it continues to go higher, and you sell, you'll think of those shares you could have had. Don't get into that mind set..or you'll be buying back..and if there is a pull back, you'll sell again, back and forth until you've really lost a fortune. Traders get into this mess.
Selling at the wrong time then quickly buying back to catch up, maybe add more funds..then it pulls back
and on and on.
And its those type of actions that may have put many of us here...past mistakes...many not holding long enough on other stocks..but keep in mind...if those other stocks had skyrocketed...and you still have them, would you really have held them for the full ride? Probably not. A 10% pull back now will be easier to take than when a 10% pull back happens at $1 or $2.
Also, with that 100K shares I sold..its "first in first out"..unless you tell your broker IN ADVANCE..how you want shares sold..like Last in First out. in other words
I sold 100K shares of stock that I had bought some YEARS ago..those were LONG TERM GAINS...
luckily the 100K shares I bought this year...it will be a year with them come March...
Its not going to be that easy holding your shares if LQMT goes to heights some are dreaming..
just thought I'd mention it. Just be grateful you held until now. ..and hopefully can hold longer...
into the dollars...I know I can because that extra cash eased some great anxiety from buying too much.
Hope this helps someone.
