Governors have zero control over county/city purchases. Just saying. Every entity has its own budget and expenditures. I'm WELL versed in this particular area. For instance, a meeting with the governor MIGHT be good for State Patrol cars, but will have zero direct impact on Sherriff or City police vehicles. With government entities, there is also the legal requirement to publicly bid this stuff out in a sealed bid process and go with the best offer. We could get undercut. In my opinion, Steve is wasting his time with the governor. Whatever the governor agrees to would have to go through the budgetary process, be politicized, have any number of caveats placed on it as a part of the deal and then voted on.

If he makes a deal directly with the auto manufacturers to make the product standard in the vehicles they offer to the government in THEIR bids, then, by default, he gets all the government anyway when they vote to accept whatever manufacturers offer.
