KV I've been told by my Cardiologist that he's fine with me taking Omegia Via EPA 500 as an alternative since Kaiser insurance would not cover it ( at least for me ...apparently poster JF has some Kaiser coverage ) ...assuming I didn't want to pay full retail price.

I've also donated blood at UCSF Adult Lipid Clinic ..research into hetero FH ...and been told the same thing by the cardiologist there .

Both would recommend Vascepa first but if insurance didn't cover they were fine with Omegia Via EPA 500 as an alternative .

Just telling you like it is in my experience.
