My father cannot take a statin. He was taking a fenofibrate before switching to V. His trigs increased, not decreased. He still takes V for the anti inflammatory but also takes the fibrate, which brought his trigs back down. Fibrates do a better job of lowering trigs, but we all already knew this. Doesn't mean anything as HG already pointed out with previous studies that lower trig levels have nothing to do with lower events.
