If someone writes you a check for $1,000.00 and post dates it.......and you cash it and its no good......is that a crime?

Pardon me? Is this a trick question? At the time the check is written and before you find out it's no good? Even that is incorrect.

A kited check, once shown to be fake is not only a crime when discovered, every event of it's creation will be prosecuted from before that check was falsely signed.

Does Texas have different laws than the rest of the United States?
