Things changed after the minimum order size was raised to 10,000 shares. I think that was 2011. Means you have to "ante up" $500-990" to enter stocks from .05-.099. Gets expensive if you want to take multiple positions in stocks in that price range. Unless you've got so much money getting 10 of them for say $8,000 total doesn't bother you, and you can afford to have that much sitting idle while you wait. I've never had much luck getting filled on orders below the minimum size, maybe others have
